Tashkent Medical Academy

Tashkent Medical Academy was founded in 1918 and later in 1919 it was first established as a Medical university in which 205 students enrolled and studied 5 courses in the Faculty of Medicine. In May 1921 the first 12 students graduated from the faculty and 27 students graduated in 1922. Furthermore in 2005 TMA was officially announced as a medical university by merging the First and Second Tashkent State Medical Institutes through a President decree. Since then this university has become a center of excellence for medical education and research center of the country.

TMA trains highly qualified specialists in medicine, public health, and related fields. It also operates a School of Public Health, simulation centers, and specialized research laboratories. 

Today, this academy has thousands of students including international students from various countries of the world. Moreover, the main attraction of this medical academy is its rich historic background, English curriculum, well equipped labs, clinical affiliations and a solid reputation in the field of medicine.

Tashkent Medical Academy has several faculties that cover a wide range of medical and health sciences, including:

ADMISSIONS & FUNDING OVERVIEW

Once candidates receive their Provisional Admission Letter (PAL), they must follow the rules mentioned in the letter. Each PAL includes a QR code, which can be scanned to verify its authenticity through the official portal at check.ijro.uz.

Important Guidelines

Final List Requirement
To be officially enrolled, candidates must appear on the Final List.

Fee Payment & Document Submission
To be included in the Final List, candidates must:

  • Pay 50% of the annual tuition fee within 7 days of receiving the PAL.
  • Submit all required documents within the deadline.

Note:

  • A Provisional Admission Letter does not guarantee final admission.
  • Admission is confirmed only after fee payment and submission of required medical documents.

 

Payment of Advance Fee

  • The tuition fee must be paid only to the official university bank account.
  • The student’s full name and passport number must be clearly mentioned on the payment slip or transfer receipt.

Medical Certificates

Students must submit a valid Health Certificate (in the required format) confirming that:

  • They are vaccinated against Varicella (Chickenpox), Rubella, and Measles.
  • Their chest X-ray is normal and they are free from tuberculosis.
  • They are medically fit to travel and study abroad.

The certificate must be issued and signed by a licensed doctor with an official stamp.

Visa Process

  1. Visa Invitation (TELEX):
    After confirming the fee payment and medical documents, TSMU will apply for the Visa Invitation (TELEX).
  2. Visa Stamping:
    With the TELEX, students must obtain an A-1 Student Visa from their home country or designated issuing center.

No other visa type or e-visa is accepted.

 

Travel to Uzbekistan

Enrolled students must arrive at TSMU before the start of the first semester, scheduled for October 27, 2025 (Autumn intake). The academic year will run until July 2026.

 

Final Registration at TSMU

Upon arrival, students must present the following documents to complete registration and start classes:

  • Original passport
  • Original 12th Grade Certificate/Marksheet
  • Original Health Certificate with vaccination and test reports

The tuition fee for international students at TMA is approximately:

General Medicine

The tuition fee is $3500 to $4000 per year.

 

Other Faculties (Nursing, Preventive Medicine)

The tuition fee is around $3000 to $3500 per year.

 

Postgraduate Programs 

The tuition fees vary depending on specialty.
