Nanjing Medical University (NMU) was founded in 1934 as Jiangsu Provincial College of Health Policy and Management. It was relocated to Nanjing in 1957 and renamed Nanjing Medical University in 1993. It is a public university under the administration of the Jiangsu Provincial Government and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
NMU has two main campuses, the Wutai Campus is for clinical teaching and research and the Jiangning Campus is for teaching and administration. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, public health, and biomedical sciences.
