Kharkiv National Medical University is one of Ukraine’s oldest and leading medical institutions. Founded in 1804 according to its website. It has an Educational-Scientific Institute for Postgraduate Education, an Institute for Training Foreign Citizens, and other faculties.
The university is recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health, and its degrees for foreign graduates are legalized by Ukrainian authorities.

To gain admission as a foreign student at KNMU, you must:
- Have completed secondary school with strong grades especially in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. If your schooling has only 10 or 11 years instead of 12, you’ll need to attend the preparatory course and earn the Higher School Diploma.
- Submit an application form, passport copy, secondary school certificate/diploma, transcripts.
- Provide a medical certificate, health insurance, photos, visa (study visa) etc.
- Pay for the first year’s tuition and accommodation before arrival.

- The preparatory (premedical) department for English medium costs about $1800 for tuition.
- The Pharmacy program in English medium is about $3300 per year, and in Russian medium about $2500 per year.
- Hostel (student dormitory) charges per year range between $700 and $1200, depending on the hostel.
