Dnipro State Medical University
Dnipro State Medical University was founded in 1916 in Ukraine. It is one of the oldest and historic public medical universities. Furthermore, DSMU holds the highest Level IV accreditation and is fully accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science Ukraine and with the Ministry of Health. The university is located in Dnipro, Ukraine’s largest industrial city which is a vibrant and convenient place for national and international students.
DSMU has high qualified faculty which includes 646 teachers, 98 experienced doctors, 359 candidates of Medical Sciences, 1 Academician of Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,1Corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine,2 Corresponding members of Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,4 employees were awarded the Prizes of the President of Ukraine, 5 distinguished workers of higher educational and public education of Ukraine, 9 honored workers of Science and Technology, 9 State Prize winners of Ukraine and Russia, 5 honored Doctors of Ukraine, 24 full members and corresponding members of many National and foreign universities,members of international Scientific societies and Associations. In total, the Academy employs over 1100 employees.
Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy (DMA) has 7 hostels for students with an area of 46000 sq.m. 2849 students can stay at the Academy’s hostels. Furthermore, the Academy has a sports complex which includes gaming, fencing, fitness room, table tennis hall, wrestling, swimming pool, shooting, vivarium, a sanatorium, country sports camp for 250 people, academic library with electronic devices, Technocenter and two museums. DSMU also has 42 Clinical departments of Dnipro State Medical University (DSMU) located in the 28 hospitals of the city of Dnipropetrovsk and the number of beds which clinical departments use is 15000.
At present 4500 students are studying in Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy (DMA), among them are 700 students from 36 countries are getting training in different specialties, among them mostly students are from Jordan, Syria, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Palestine, China, Morocco, Lebanon, Kenya, Ghana, and others.

There are five main steps to complete the admission process at Dnipro State Medical University:
Step 1: Apply Online
Students can apply online through the university website. First, review the tuition fees and available courses, then choose your preferred course. After that, send the following documents by email:
- Filled Application Form
- Copy of International Passport or ID Card (valid for at least 2 years)
- Copy of Higher Secondary School Certificate (with subject details)
Step 2: Get the Invitation Letter
To receive an official Invitation Letter from Dnipro State Medical University, send the following:
- Filled Application Form
- Copy of International Passport (valid for at least 1 year)
- Copy of School Certificate (with subject details)
- Payment of US$400 for the invitation letter and US$100 for courier charges
You can send these documents after receiving the Admission Confirmation Letter. Documents must be scanned clearly and sent by email or fax. Payment can be made by bank transfer, Western Union, or MoneyGram and you must send the payment receipt for confirmation. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine issues the invitations within 5 to 7 working days. Once processed, the original Invitation Letter, Admission Confirmation Letter, and Visa Support Letter will be sent to you by courier.
Step 3: Apply for a Visa
After receiving the invitation letter, contact the nearest Ukrainian Embassy in your country to apply for a student visa.
Visa Requirements:
- Completed Visa Application Form
- Original Passport (valid for at least 1 year)
- Secondary School Certificate (attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Apostille)
- Medical Certificate of Physical and Mental Fitness (attested)
- Original Invitation Letter
- Two Passport-Sized Photos (3.5 × 4.5 cm)
Step 4: Arrival in Ukraine
Once your visa is approved, book your flight and inform the university of your flight details, date, and arrival time. A university representative will meet you at the airport.
Step 5: Admission & Start of Classes
Upon arrival, students must bring all original documents and proof of full payment for the first year. Submit these to the International Department. The International Relations Office will finalize your admission and registration within 1–3 working days, after which you can begin classes. The university will also help you extend your visa through the Home Office. All formalities are usually completed within 4–5 working days.
Tuition fees vary by program and medium of instruction. For General Medicine in English, the cost is higher compared to Ukrainian-medium programs. Dentistry and Pharmacy have their own fee structures. Living expenses, hostel charges, and health insurance are additional but remain affordable compared to Western Europe.
