Minimum academic requirements
- For international students studying an Australian Year 12 qualification, your selection rank is your ATAR plus any adjustment factors you may be eligible for.
- If you’re an international student who has not completed an Australian Year 12, we recognise a number of international qualifications for direct entry.
- Entry requirements for Charles Sturt University courses vary from country to country. Some courses have specific academic requirements for international students. Refer to the International admissions matrix for country and course details.
- Applicants with a combination of domestic and international qualifications will be assessed on the basis of their highest eligible qualification.

English language requirements
You can normally meet the English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements for entry to most Charles Sturt University courses by doing one of the following:
- providing evidence of having completed a sufficient standard of study in English (as outlined in Group one and Group two lists below)
- for undergraduate courses have obtained an Academic IELTS within the last 2 years with:
- a minimum overall score of 6.0
- no individual score below 5.5

- for higher degree by research courses have obtained at Academic IELTS within the last 2 years with:
